Scouts Annual Saugeen River Trip

The weekend of Sept 16 – 18th – The 20th Faith Scouts have returned for the 3rd time in 5 years. This year was to concentrate on camp clean-up. On past visits, the 20th Faith Brant Scouts participated in wood/brush and trash removal at Denny’s Damn park. The camp is in good shape however; during Spring and Fall the park is busier, and trash can be more prevalent. The weather hindered a little but the kids persevered. The Ontario Steelheaders are grateful for their continued assistance in keeping the park tidy and we hope they enjoyed the weekend.

Over the years its not been all work for the scouts. They have toured the dam/fish ladder and visited the Lake Huron fish hatchery; these activities assist them in acquiring their ‘Fish & Wildlife Badge.’ They also have visited the Bruce County Museum in Southampton which was very interesting, went to the beach, some did fishing, explored the Saugeen rivers edge and had a good campfire.
